  4. Current Neighborhood:  Woodridge Estates
  5. Number of years in La Grange:  Four currently, but lived here from birth till 18 when I went to college.
  6. My favorite annual event is: Light Up La Grange.

  9. My favorite retail shop is: Dizzy Dave’s.
  10. I like to hang out at: Farmer’s Market on the weekends in the summer.
  11. The best thing that’s happened to La Grange is: It has stayed a “small town,” even after it has grown so much over the years. Plus, small business owners have opened some really great shops on Main Street that help keep that small town feel.
  12. La Grange is special because:  Because this is where I grew up, and it’s where I want my son to grow up.
  13. I love La Grange because:  It does have that small town feel, where neighbors still help neighbors.

Tiffany Reed of Tiffany Reed Photography snapped this image of LeeAnn Sheperson at Karen’s Book Barn & Java Stop at 127 East Main at Walnut. Tiffany captures life’s special moments, because “time is fleeting – photographs capture it.” You can find Tiffany at her Facebook page.

Karen’s Book Barn is an “anchor store” on Main Street. Karen carries used and new books, many books by local authors and poets, and a variety of hot and cold drinks. Karen purchased The Book Barn on Main Street in 1998, and she blends the ten years’ history of the store with her personal style and commitment to the new business.

Karen also is an avid volunteer and is the head of Discover Downtown La Grange board. You can find Karen’s Book Barn & Java Stop on Facebook, too.
