La Grange Faces — Pete Finch
- Name: Walter “B” Finch; but I’m known as “Pete.”
- Occupation: Activities Director at La Grange Community Center.
“I was born April 16, 1934 in Longrove KY (Hardin County). I was raised in the Parkland neighborhood in Louisville, Ky. I worked my entire carrier of 50 yrs at Cohart factories in Louisville, while raising our five children with my lovely wife, Edith. We moved to La Grange in 1999 to be closer to our youngest child Thomas. We have now collectively grown to a total of 25; 5 children, 11 grand, 7 great grand and us 2.
“I live in Prestwick estates with my wife Edith of 58 yrs; we are members of Immaculate Conception church in La Grange. I have no plans on ever moving from La Grange. La Grange fits our needs perfectly. We have a major hospital, Wal-Mart, awesome restaurants while still maintaining the small town atmosphere. I like seeing my elected officials out and about in the community. It is nice to talk to your mayor or councilman just standing on the corner waiting for a train to clear. I am currently an activities director at the Lagrange community center, stop in and say Hi and I will tell you what all we have to offer the community.”

The La Grange Community Center is located at 307 West Jefferson Street. They are open to all residents of Oldham County free of charge. Their facilities include four classrooms, a gym, a walking track, kitchen, game room and an aerobics room. And, employees like Pete make a visit to this facility all that much nicer!
